The GORE-TEX® insertable gasket is designed to be used with ANSI RAISED-FACE FLANGES

The softer innner section of the GORE-TEX insertable gasket is designed to align near the center of the raised face. Upon compression, this softer inner section will conform to irregularities in the flange surfaces, cover the entire raised face, and harden.

The high degree of conformability creates a seal on surfaces that cannot be sealed with other gasket materials. It assists in the creation of a seal when poor assembly techniques are used.

Good bolting practices direct that flanges be assembled using well lubricated bolts and nuts that are free of dirt, nicks, burrs, etc. Tighten bolts as you would with any other conventional gasket material. The GORE-TEX insertable gasket compresses in place and becomes a hard, durable gasket.
